10Brad Williamson – 5 Wins

Brad has five wins on the board already this season with four of them coming from driving trotters to victory. Brad’s most recent winner was Pyramid Magic at Winton on the 6th September 2015. He has had 88 total wins since 2012 with and he runs in the first three 24% of the time he starts. His current UDR is around .25 better than his average over the last 4 years of .14

A good driver, he looks to be in for a good season and is currently sitting in second in the junior drivers premiership.

9Gavin Smith – 5 Wins

Gavin has quickly climbed to five wins this season the last coming at the Oamaru meeting held 13th September 2015 on Tango’s Delight.
He has had 429 total wins since he started driving in 2002 and he runs in the first three 29% of the time he starts. Hi current UDR is .30 higher than his average over the last 4 years of .17

With a good team of horses around him including promising trotter Great Things Happen he should be in for one of his best seasons yet.

8Scott Phelan – 5 Wins

Scott has five wins so far with his latest winner being the good mare Ideal Flybye at Auckland on 3rd September 2015.
He has had 354 winners since he began driving in 2000 and he runs in the top three 31% of the times that he starts. His current UDR is around .21 which is quite close to his average over the last four years of .20

Scott looks sure to have a good season ahead especially with some promising drives on young horses from the Tefer/Garlick stable.

7Zac Butcher – 5 Wins

Zac also has 5 wins on board with the latest being at the HR Waikato meeting where he picked up a double on Mokosun and Love Is A Drug.
He has had 461 winners so far since he started driving in 2008 and he runs in the first three placings 35% of the times he starts which is impressive. His current UDR is .32 higher than his last four years average of .25

Zac will increase this total at least 10 fold this season with some big drives coming on the Barry Purdon trained horses including NZ cup hopeful Sky Major

6Matthew Williamson – 6 Wins

Matthew has six wins so far this season the latest of them coming on good 3yo Zenmach at Winton on 6th September.
He has had 507 wins in total since he began his driving career in 2009 and he runs in the first three placings around 31% of the times he drives. His current UDR is about .20 which is on par with his last four year average of .20

Matthew normally drives about 70 -110 winners a season and he looks on target to drive a similar total this year.

5Tony Herlihy – 6 Wins

Tony has six wins so far this season from 22 starts the latest of them coming aboard the impressive 3yo Walkinshaw at Cambridge on 10th September 2015
He has had an incredible 3332 winners since he began his driving career in 1978. His current UDR is a whopping .38 better than his four year average of .31

Tony will surely increase his total this season with some classy horses in his stable including some future stars in Express Stride and Okoka Punter

4Kimberly Butt (J) – 6 Wins

Kimberly is trucking along well this season with six wins to her name. Her latest winner was One Direction at Oamaru on 13th September 2015
She has had 40 wins in her career from 354 starters and she places in the first three 27% of the time she drives. Her UDR is around .25 much higher than the previous two years average of .18

Kimberly is picking up better drives all the time and is currently the top junior driver as of today’s date.

3Blair Orange – 12 Wins

Blair is currently sitting on twelve wins for the season. His latest winners were at Oamaru on the 13th September where drove a double with Ralph Elliott and Amazon Lily.
He has 1070 winners since he started driving in 1997. Blair places in the top three places 32% of the time that he drives. His UDR is around .22 lower than his four year average of .24

Blair will have a good season driving for the Ken Barron stable, with some good firepower present in that team this year.

2Dexter Dunn – 15 Wins

Dexter! Say no more!
Dexter is sitting on 15 wins so far with his latest two winners coming at Oamaru on 13th September in Fratellino and Pulp Fiction. Dexter has had 1580 winners so far in his 9 year career.
He incredibly places around 43% of the times he drives and has a massive UDR of .42 His four year UDR average is also high at .31

Dexter looks to have a strangle hold on the drivers premiership again this year and is headed toward another record season if he continues the way he has started.

1John Dunn – 17 Wins

John is leading the drivers premiership at the moment and is trying to hold off brother Dexter who is closing fast. His last winner was Franco Cristiano at Addington on 11th September 2015. John has had 729 wins since he began driving in 2001. He places in approx 32% of his drives and has a UDR this year of .32 a lot higher than his four year average of .22

John has started well this year and should have his best year yet if he can keep his winning strike rate of the first six weeks of the season.
