10Phil Williamson – 5 Wins

Phil has quickly climbed to five wins this season the last coming at the Winton meeting held 6th September 2015 on Pyramid Magic.
He has had 446 total wins since he started training in 1993 and he runs in the first three 41% of the time he starts his runners. His current UDR is .40 which is higher than his average over the last 4 years of .27

With a good team of medium grade trotters in his barn including promising horse Monty Python, he should be in for a good season ahead.

9Steve Telfer & Chris Garlick – 5 Wins

The Telpher/Garlick stable has five wins so far with their latest winner being the up and comer Ashton K at Addington on 11th September 2015.
They have had 115 winners since the partnership began in 2012 and their horses run in the top three an impressive 47% of the times that they start. Their current UDR is around .29 which is lower than their average over the last four years of .31

The stable look sure to have a good season ahead especially with some promising young horses coming through the ranks.

8Tony Stratford – 5 Wins

The Tony Stratford stable has five wins so far with his latest winner being Pulp Fiction at Oamaru on 13th September 2015.
Tony has had 90 winners since he began training in 1994 and his horses run in the top three 29% of the times that they start. His current UDR is around .40 which is higher than his average over the last four years of .17

The stable look sure to have a good season ahead especially with the class horse Pulp Fiction and several promising youngsters waiting in the wings.

7Barry Purdon – 5 Wins

Barry also has 5 wins on board with the latest being at the Auckland meeting on 18th September where he picked up a double with The Faithful and Hartofdixie.
He has had 752 winners on his own account so far since he started training in 2008 and another 1585 winners in partnerships with other trainers. Barry runs in the first three placings 47% of the times he starts his runners which is impressive. His current UDR is .42, which is higher than his last four years average of .32

Barry will increase this total 10 fold this season with some good horses yet to start including NZ cup hopeful Sky Major.

6Bruce Negus – 5 Wins

Bruce has five wins so far this season the latest of them coming on good mare Delightful Dash at Addington on 11th September.
He has had 316 wins on his own account since he began his training career in 1983 and he runs in the first three placings around 23% of the times his horses start. His current UDR is about .29 which is higher than his last four year average of .11

Bruce is on target for one of his better seasons if he can maintain the strike rate he has so far this year.

5John & Joshua Dickie – 5 Wins

John & Joshua have five wins so far this season from 16 starts the latest of them coming with the win of the impressive 3yo Motown at Auckland on 28th August 2015
They already have 74 winners since they began their partnership in 2014. Their current UDR is a whopping .47, which is better than their last two year average of .28
Their horses run in the money 42% of the times they start.

John & Joshua will surely increase their total this season with some classy horses in their stable including a future star in Speeding Spur.

4Jay Abernethy – 5 Wins

Jay is trucking along well this season with 5 wins to his name. His latest winner was Stuey D at Cambridge on 10th September 2015
He has had 117 wins since he began training in 2007 and he places in the first three 24% of the times he starts his horses. His UDR is around .35 which is much higher than the previous four years average of .15

Jay will pick up more wins as the season progresses especially in the claiming races and the grass track circuit at the end of the year.

3Tony Herlihy – 6 Wins

Tony is currently sitting on six training wins for the season. His latest winner was Ohoka Punter at Auckland on 18th September 2015
He has had 764 winners since he started training in 1985. His horses place in the top three places 45% of the time that they start. His UDR is around .31 which is on a par with his four year average of .31

Tony will have a good season with some good horses in the stable including recent winner and NZ Cup hopeful Ohoka Punter .

2Ken Barron – 6 Wins

Ken is sitting on 6 wins so far with his latest winner Zalta coming at Addington on 17th September 2015. Ken has had 341 winners so far since he started his training career in 2005.
His horses place around 37% of the times they start and he has a massive UDR of .50 this year, which is much higher than his four year UDR average of .27

With a good young team of horses and Blair Orange driving, Ken is headed toward his best season if he continues the way he has started.

1Robert Dunn – 7 Wins

Robert is leading the trainers premiership at the moment and is trying to get a good lead on the rest of the bunch.His last winner was Cullect A Guinness at Addington on 17th September 2015. Robert has had 1074 wins since he began training in 1978. His horses place in approx 37% of the times that they start and he has a UDR this year of .23 which is lower than his four year average of .25

Robert has started well this year and should be up over 100 wins again at seasons end if he can keep his winning strike rate of the first seven weeks of the season.

The Mark Purdon/Rasmussen stable who have yet to start a horse in New Zealand this season will close quickly when they get up and running and many of their team have been impressive already at recent trials and workouts.
